Sensitive Ears!

In our music classroom, we play instruments, sing, and create rhythms using drums and body percussion.  Sometimes this means the decibel (noise) level can be high in our very small room.  Some students' ears are sentitive to these sounds.  This may happen when your student has a cold, earache, or headache.  It can happen when we play a certain instrument such as bells or drums.  If your student has sensitive ears, please send them with a set of ear plugs (noise-dampening not noise-eliminating, placed in a bag), headphones or ear muffs.  Students can leave these items in our classroom or transport them (before class - not during) from their regular classroom.  These can be used anytime.  Students do not have to ask permission.  They should not, however, be worn continuously - only in the circumstances aggravating their tender ears.  Students still need to participate and be involved even when they are wearing these devices.
